I saw Sir (that sounds so weird, at least in the US) Paul McCartney last night at Miami's Dolphin Stadium, and was blown away by the stage show (the music, too).
60 foot tall, vertical LED screens on each side of the stage with stunningly clear video from the 5 cameras shooting the show.
It looked like a plasma in your living room, on a slightly larger scale.
The projection screen behind the stage had a combination of Beatle and McCartney stills and video clips and abstract compositions, often in what looked like an AfterEffects composition.
Also LEDs all over the the light grid and on the screen.
And the sound was incredibly clean and clear, too, the best I've ever heard in a stadium show (I haven't been to one in quite a while).
Maybe this is the stadium standard now, but it's amazing what kind of experience is available in a huge, outdoor concert now.
And the music?
A mix of (lots of) Beatles, Wings and solo songs, including compositions by John Lennon and George Harrison and a tribute to John, saying "I wrote this next song for my dear friend John. Sometimes you don't say all you mean to say to people, and then when they pass away, it's too late."
An incredible, 2 hour and forty five minute journey through popular music history, led by a 67 year old bassist, guitarist, pianist and singer with the energy (and voice) of a 20 year old.
