I am going to be shooting at an event and would like to patch my DVX100A into their sound system. I have never done this. However, I do know that I need some sort of adapter. What do I need exactly? Thanks.

You will need to check to see what kind of outputs the mixer board has. I did a shoot and was expecting to have XLR outs, but had only RCA, so I had to rush to Radio Shack and pick up RCA->XLR adapters. You might also want to get some inline attenuators to prevent the sound from overmodulating. Don't forget to set the switch in the front of the camera from mic level to line, or the other way around. Get there WAY ahead of time and test, test, test. make a recording and take the camera somewhere quiet and check the playback on decent headphones to make sure there is no distortion. Even subtle distortion can sound unbearable on playback thru a decent system...
