Parents out there

It's actually not that rude. Sometimes I like to make strange animal sounds when I'm alone, or great homemade porn when I'm not alone.

Maybe.

But you notice no one rushed to answer the question.

Frankly, I'm in awe of my friends who had a whole brood before they were 30. Many have three or four now. Couldn't even imagine it.

So what makes someone want to have a child, or feel they are capable of guiding another, very impressionable, human through the world? (Just thought I would throw the question out there and see what motivated you)

I did not mean anything by it… it is just I am completely afraid of babies, well, children in general. So, I just wanted to know if you ever get over that or if you have to have a child before you do?

..i dont think there is anything that can prepare you for having a child of your own .. it is a life changing experience regardless of how comfortable you are with children beforehand. there is something about having someone who is a part of you and someone else that is in your complete care. its a bit like getting married only you dont get to choose who they are.. but you do get to raise them to be who you want... unlike the person you marry. anway thers a definite union or bond that is there from the beginning.. not saying you dont want to toss them across the room on occasion when they are screaming bloody murder in your ear about you throwing out their dirt clod they were saving... but thats all part of being a family.. love isnt something you feel.. love is something you do. you have to choose to love. its not an emotion despite all the crap out there that tries to tell you it is.. love is a choice. .. sometimes a hard one.. but cute little innocent kids and babies make it pretty easy most of the time. it really is a beautiful thing.. it really completes a family.

I suppose there are some people that feel like they're completely ready and the stars are all aligned, but the rest of us think about it, and then jump in with more than a little fear and doubt. I used to think you could actually figure out when it would be a good time to have kids--like some kind of equation you could solve. I've since figured out that's not the case.

OLD? I just took my daughters (14 & 11) shopping for school clothes and we all bought the same Jordan sneakers. WE BE CHILLIN' :) Then my older daughter and me went to the Armani exchange store and bought the same jeans. I told her if she gets in trouble in school Im going to show up there with the same clothes on as she does. Her face dropped and she wanted to return the jeans. I told her I would never do that because it would be embarrassing for both of us.
She also got in to one of the new specialized schools here in the city. They added
3 new ones that are the same level as Styvesant, Brooklyn Tech and Bronx high school of science.
These 3 new schools are only about 4 years old and are on collage campuses and I keep telling her this is the best opportunity to start a film club there and if it works out it will be there for her grand children to see. They have moogoo bucks since they dont have their own buildings to support and looking for things like this. She still hasnt decided but she has a boyfriend now and Im trying to get him to give her a boost.
I had my kids when I was 21 because i wanted to still be young enough to be cool when they become teens. So far its worked. I have a blast with them.
See what happens when kids are brought up in a subject, parents just blab blab blab about them. :)

Kids will change everything about you for the better. Suddenly the world revolves around someone else, your political views change, your morals change, your goals and priorities change.

When that looks up at you and says "I luv you daddy/mommy' it's magic. I have one and plan on stopping at one (barring % failure in birth control). I can't imagine having like 3 kids.

We have some neighbors across street with 3 (ages 5, 2 and infant.......) I would just go insane. Once you start getting up into the 3, 4, 6 and 8 kid mark; I find that just bizarre. Talk about overpopulatoin of the planet. Have some self control people.

Yeah, i stopped randomly running over pigeons with my car after I had kids.
Oh, and driving through big puddles to splash people waiting under the bus stops...
I did, however, show them how its done once.

Ive done before too...in my dads car! MADDD FUNNY!!!!
He was letting me drive the car to the store and back...and it was wet after it was raining...so there was a huge ass like pot hole thing on the side of the road near the curb infront of a bus stop...and it was filled with like 6 inches of water....and I drove into it thinking it was jus a small little puddle...and i was goin about 30 mph...and i drive over and...KA SPLASH!! I got 3 people soaked with water....and my dad was like....WTF WAS THAT?!?!!! I was like...a tsunami. Then he was like...you know those people could call the cops or something..im like...noooooo they wont, because anything electronic on them isnt capable of working anymore because of the ever demolishing tsunami of dirty road water.
Then I drove home and had a hot chocolate...and logged on here!! HURRAY!

Fock. Dude. I'm sorry.

Horse, you are one of the few people on this site that i want to meet and knowing this fact makes me sad.

Don't be sad, John. I'm really happy with my life. I've got nieces that I see often and that's enough for me.

I'd love to get together with ya for a brew sometime.
