Anyone seen it? I was not as taken with this film as I was with "Elephant," but it is still worth seeing IMO. I found it very difficult to connect to the main character throughout most of the film, but a couple of scenes were extraordinary and stayed with me. Christopher Doyle's cinematography is amazing, as expected.
Like most of his films, this was daring and different, and even though I think it often missed the mark (particularly with the soundtrack), I still enjoyed watching it. Van Sant gets me thinking critically about filmmaking and what really affects an audience - I felt like a film student again while watching "Paranoid Park," which for me was refreshing. If you don't like slow films, stay far away from this one.
