Par cans???

I need a recommendation or advice on what to look for when purchasing Par Cans (i have a shoot coming up and it seems it will be cheaper to buy a few rather than rent). FRom what i gather Par 64 (1000w) is the one i'll be using.

I bought 4 of the inexpensive ones from these guys:http://www.bulbamerica.com/stage-lighting/par-cans/par64-cans/par64-cans.html.

I have two set up with 1000 watt very narrow spot bulbs (VNSP) and two with 1000 watt medium flood bulbs (MFL). the VNSP bulbs have a much more narrow beam and are brighter. The beam spread is pretty harsh on them. The MFL have a smoother beam spread and are less bright than the VNSP. The inexpensive fixtures are pretty light weight I like them.

Here is a link to bulbs: http://www.bulbamerica.com/light-bulbs/par-can-bulbs-2/par64-bulbs-2.html

I got the Avenger E309 TVMP to make the PAR cans stand mountable.

Unless you find a good deal on the Altman ones (steel, more durable) just get the cheapest ones you can find. You might have to replace a socket every once in a while but that's about it.
