Jesus.  I heard a guy on the radio this morning who was at the show.  He said the guy was dressed like a security guard, so the band didn't really react to him.  Then he just opened up.  Damn.  I really dug Pantera too.  What a f***ing waste.

I saw Pantera live 8 times over the years. I was looking forward to seeing Damageplan. Looks like I won't get that chance. I feel really bad for his brother/drummer Vinnie. Imagine watching some f*ckhead waste your brother.

I guess he walked right up to Dime and shot him 5 or 6 times at point blank range, then started shooting into the crowd.

I wasn't a huge Pantera fan... but I mourn the death of anyone. Violence is such an ugly thing.

Apparently the guy was upset about Pantera's breakup. He blamed Darrell. At least that's what I heard on the radio.

I don't know the club's policies, but back when I used to play out, most clubs barely checked ID's. I've also worked as a bouncer, and it is very difficult to keep an eye on everything that is going on, especially at that kind of show. Most clubs hire no-kneck thugs for security anyway. I always preferred using my head and my mouth as opposed to my hands though.
