After many years using the same NLEs (Premiere and FCP), I decided to give Vegas a try, just to play with the rather sexy surround panner.
I'm using the Demo version of Vegas 6.
Here's my situation: I have a complete stereo mix that I'm trying to redo in 5.1. The old stereo mix is contained in 20 individual stereo tracks, each making up the various layers of dialogue, sound effects, music, and ambient sound. Each track contains many individual elements, some of which I want to pan between speakers, and other chunks which will remain in the Center channel.
I notice that the surround panner in Vegas affects the entire track. Is there any way to pan individual clips separately from the master track panner?
