Super 35mm-sized digital imaging sensor which allows 35mm depth of field!

Oh, sure...™ it will probably have a price tag of $10,000,000 but I hope it's the shape of things to come - The technology... not the price tag!

Intriguing. First of all, there won't *be* a price tag on it, no matter how high, because Panavision doesn't sell cameras. They only rent them.

Secondly... while it has a 12.4 million-pixel CCD system, it records to HDCAM SR? That's standard 1920x1080 uncompressed, isn't it? HDCAM SR is probably good enough that nobody will notice or care, but it's only capable of recording 1/6 the pixels in the frame.

Overall, very interesting (especially that it's capable of up to 50fps). Supposed to be available in November...

I guess you could compare it to 35mm transferred to 2K for effects?
