Not sure if these are successors to the two that were recently announced, but they do capture full res, as now shown by the "1920 Full HD" on the body.

Edit: It's unlikely they're successors to the SD1 and DX1, since they haven't even been out but for a few months.
It looks like there's no word on when these will be released in the US, but if patterns in the past are any indicator it shouldn't be too long.

Edit 2: I wonder if the software that's reportedly being supplied by Panasonic is any indicator on how slow the major NLE companies are providing an AVCHD editing solution of their own.

No doubt do they look stylish and appealing but when it comes to raw performances and practicallity when editing they aren't there yet. I give Panasonic much credit though for pushing solid state.

NOW THAT"S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

(probably see it implemented into Premeire sometime around 2011), <g>.
Hopefully support from Adobe isn't too far off, since Vegas, Ulead, and Pinacle Studio recently announced support for it.

Indeed. And having a product that looks 'stylish and appealing' sometimes takes precedent over basic quality and practicality in this part of the market.
However, as the hardware becomes more powerful and more accessible it begins to appeal to a broader group with even greater expectations and the various bottlenecks created by rocky adaptation of the format and slow NLE support creates a strain on a part of the market that should be experiencing the least amount of frustration/confusion. Then again, I could be wrong since history has shown that early adopters of almost any new product serve as test subjects from whom their expressed frustrations are used to create a better product later.
