I have an (now getting elderly) panasonic deck that has both SuperVHS and MiniDV on board. You can copy from one to the other and so forth.
What I want to do is to play MiniDV on the deck AND using the firewire 4-pin port on the front left side of the deck capture that with Premiere Pro CS3 in Windows. I have run a 4-pin firewire (from the deck) to the 6-pin firewire on the back of the hard drive I am writing to. I have used this same connection with HD and sony VX-2000 with no problem.
I can't seem to get Premiere Capture to recognize it. Does anyone have experience with this piece of hardward and Premiere and know what are the settings, probably the ones on the Panasonic deck?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
