The HC-X920/HC-X920M are "palm-corders" with new 3COMOS 1/2.3-type BSI MOS Sensors, while this appears to be a larger sensor than in the AG-AC90's 1/4.7-type BSI MOS Sensors the lens seem to be almost identical a F1.5 lens 29.8mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle to 12x optical zoom. The HC-X920/HC-X920M also has a 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S. like the AG-AC90's. The camera does lacks some of the pro features of the AG-AC90's after all it is a consumer "palm-corder" it does raise the question will we see the larger sensor in a full Pro camera at this years NAB?

They really should drop the whole "hybrid" thing and not put so many megapixels (38.28 megapixels (12.76 megapixels x 3)) on such a small sensor. But I guess you need the whole hybrid video/still selling-point to compete in that segment of the market...

The "hybrid" refers to the 5-Axis optical image Stabilizer which in the AG-AC90 works very very well maybe the best optical image Stabilizer around

I didn't mean it in regards to that - I just meant it in regards to the whole "this camera can take photos too!". Less megapixels usually equals much better low-light ISO performance - I wonder if they'd use so many megapixels if there wasn't the need to give it a still-photo function? The Blackmagic Cinema Camera only has a 3.3MP sensor, and from what I've seen so far, performs really well in low-light while retaining a beautiful organic-like grain structure.

I will almost guarantee you that someone made a mistake in typing in those specs. It is impossible to have three half-inch chips and a 2.84mm lens in a package that size.

I will almost guarantee that this camera is using the same 1/4" chipset from the AC90. No way is it three 1/2.3".
