Panasonic New Jersey: A Mess?

I have had an AJ-SD255 deck on order since July 5 with two different vendors. The sales reps I have spoken with tell me the deck is available, in Panasonic's New Jersey office, and just needs to be placed in a box and shipped. They have been telling me this since last week.

Evidentally the NJ office is being shut down and is a complete mess.

I think Panasonic makes the best stuff, but I find this shipping situation unacceptable and, a real head scratcher.

Anyone else pulling his/her hair out waiting on Panasonic products to ship form NJ?

Hi,

I don't know who your dealers are, but I question why they would say such a thing. We do not box anything here in NJ and we don't ship from NJ. We ship out of Kent, Washington. We opened the month with slim inventory but have been shipping for the the last week and so far have shipped over 33 units with a good number lleft over for additional sales.

Our offices have not been shut down and while we can sometimes get confused, we are not a mess. Perhaps the thing for you to do is to send me a private message so that we don't have to embarrass good people in front of an audience. We can see if your dealers are real, and if they really have had a problem or they are just trying to two-step the product. I can think of a number of reasons for such lame excuses, which are not real, and none of them are very good.

First off, thanks for replying Jan. It's much appreciated.

I certainly wasn't t trying to embarrass good people in front of an audience, but rather was just trying to get some insight from what I believe is a large Panasonic user base here at DVXUser. As I said, I think Panasonic has the best pro product line.

The tapes should start shipping this month but from the date of your purchase it may be end of August before you get your tapes. Sorry.
