Panasonic hmc150 to dvd again

I know this has been talked about over and over but i never see any answers
to the quality to dvd product.
I bought this camera because of the beautiful video it produced while
playing on the camera in hd.
I'm not going blue ray yet and most of my clients aren't either.
So how can i produce a hd video on a regular dvd player?
The quality i get when i produce a dvd is a step backwards in video quality
Is ther e a book or video that takes you thru the steps to get the best quality?

Thanks
Peter L

You can't put HD video on a regular DVD player. DVD players are strictly standard-def only.

You can make excellent-looking DVDs, but they'll be standard-def because that's what DVD is.

This is what bothers me.
everyone has a different answer to what should be a simple answer.
The other thing is i bought this camera to make my work faster and now after i load my
hd project into my computer which is basically in real time 1hr shoot takes 1hr to load.
I now have to convert my hd footage to to sd which makes the quality of the video is worst than the quality which i started out with.
Not to mention i need some more software than figure out which type of file i want to convert it to.
and everyone has their own opnion which is the best format
I think the video companies could make this alot less complicated.
what happened to get yourself a good camera go shot your event edit it and give it to your client.
Like a photographer does, he gets his digital camera takes it home edits the photos
prints the photos or sends them out to be printed and he's done.

Thanks for letting me vent

If you want your disc to play in a conventional DVD player, then it MUST be standard-def MPEG-2. That's the rules and no amount of wishful thinking will change that.

What cranky's talking about is called an AVCHD disc. It will play in Blu-Ray players, or in computers, but it will not play in a regular dvd player.

So answer the following question: do you want the disc you create to be able to be played in any DVD player? If so, the answer is clear cut and final: you must author it as standard-def, 720x480, MPEG-2.

It is being printed now, and should be released in the next week. You will be able to find it offered here, and on ebay and Amazon, and B&H and other fine dealers.
