panasonic hard case AG-HT100G

i have it, bought it the day i bought my dvx100a and i love it.

its definitely not very inconspicuous so if you dont keep your stuff locked up at all times when not in use you may be drawing more attention to your gear than needed. but i think it looks very slick and professional and its a hard case, so it can take a good beatin' and its fine in the pouring rain (although i dont leave it sit in the pouring rain mind you). for me its more $ of course than other carrying options, but when you come into the set or concert, wedding, whatever with that hard case it just makes you look a little better than the guy coming in with his camera in his duffle bag-looking carrier, but that's just me.

there's enough room in it to keep lots of stuff, as you can see, here's what i hold at all times in the case:

dvx camera, remote for camera, 3 miniDV tapes, head cleaning tape, 3-4 batteries, camera ac adapter and cords, 3 lens filters, 7" LCD and all cables, power pack for LCD, swivel mounts for the shoe (for LCD), hoodman for 3.5 LCD on camera, lens cleaner and lens cleaning papers, lens blower, tape, 2 screw drivers, and I may be forgetting some odds and ends.

lyons-den, do you think you could give me the case measurements in inches? i cant find the dimensions anywhere, not even on the panasonic site. everywhere just has the basic picture of it. also, how does it sit in the case? straight, sideways, etc.

thanks!

I think that for the money, and with what I know today, I would buy a Hardigg Storm iM2500.

$113 + shipping.

just measured it: 10"x13"x21"

the camera sits on the top level, which pulls out and then you can keep more under it, camera sits longways.

thanks for breaking out the tape measure! that was instant gratification, haha.
you mentioned locking it, does it come with a lock and key or something?
thanks again!

thisiswells- yeah i was/am looking at those storm cases too... nicely built.

I too have this case. Love it and feel like it really protects the equipment.

Anyone have a good suggestion for cutting the foam cleanly. I want to store my wideangle lens in the top tray so I need to cut a circle.
