panasonic G2 stuck in permanent service mode !

Hello,
I have just found out that my camera is set in the permanent service mode , I only recently discovered that on my camera there shouldn't be a triangle with an explanation mark on the LCD screen when you turn the camera off , also ROM BACKUP is displayed in the settings menu !
The camera appears to work as it should, so my question is really either leave alone or ' re-initialising the camera' , of which I have been told is on page 13 in the service manual, I don't have a service manual.
Any advice or help will be very much appreciated, thanks.

I'm assuming with your G2 it should be about the same (I followed GH1 instructions).

The odd thing is that I found another forum where the OP posted the same original post, then replied to it himself with a solution. I just figured he hadn't bothered to return here and post the solution as well.

Hi Gents,

Had the same problem with my newly acquired PANASONIC G1 recently...drove me nuts.

As per link in previous post, found the service manual via Elektrotanya here: http://elektrotanya.com/panasonic_dm.../download.html
Then click on "Get Manual" just below the preview picture.
Follow instructions in manual on pages 10 & 11.

Triangle disappears...all is calm again...
