Thought I'd provide an image of how I mounted the IDX (Sony) V Lock Battery Mount to the rear of my 17" LCD:

The IDX V-Plate (Part Name P-V) comes in 3 parts. Part one is a thin back plate with several pre tapped holes in it (none of which marry up to any of the VESA Mount Holes on the monitor). Part two is the rubber flange and Part three is the actual V-Lock plate.

STEP 1: Disassemble all the component parts and position the Back Plate on the rear of the monitor. I centered the back plate onto the 4 internal VESA Mount Holes on the rear of the monitor. Mark the position of the holes (roughly) on the back plate and drill out acordingly.

STEP 2: Using M5 Bolts (15mm length) with washers attach the back plate to the monitor using the holes you've just drilled.

STEP 3: On the V Lock Mount section unscrew the 4 self tapping screws to remove the back and remove the plastic stopper on the side to get cable access. I soldered my cable to the existing Red and Black wires but you could also utilise the Anton Bauer Power Tap on the side of the plate if you wanted too.

STEP 4: Using the 4 supplied bolts attach the V Plate to the Back Plate remembering to sandwich the rubber flange between both sections. Hey presto, You now have a field monitor.

The hardest part to this whole project was cutting down the M5 Bolts to a 15mm length and maybe soldering the right angle 4 pin XLR. But other than that I would say on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the easiest) for DIY'ing this is an 7/8. No real skill required but some common sense needed.

No problem, just couldn't wait for Panasonic to come up with a solution so DIY'd it myself.
