Panasonic 4K at NAB?

Anybody can tell me about the quality of Af100 SDI out
What I know is 8 bit 4:2:2 well that's ok for $5000
The new coming camera's are most far more expensive and also have 8 bit 4:2:2
I have to know what the quality is from SDI out any links with footage will be fine..
We don't have to wait for new camera's if the old one can do the same thing for less money all I what is clean media out of the camera
I don't need 4k, 2k works for me on broadcast and festivals..........

Yes I did mine research can't find anything convincing

As a Web/App designer who has side a business that involves videos, I keep an eye on various tech.... I'll say this:

Within the next year, 4K computer monitors will be springing up everywhere (starting with the next imac). 4K or quad HD will be the buzz word and the video guys know it. It used to be TVs that dictated consumer video specs.... It is now, more and more, the computer device (of course, there will be a bunch of 4KTVs on the way too).

4K will be mainstream.

Agreed. Everything will eventually migrate to 4k but it will be quite some time before it's "mainstream". But it's always good to have your masters archived in the highest res/quality possible so if you have the option to start shooting 4k now, do it. You would not believe how many projects we've had to pull out of an archive (as far back as 8 year old footage!) because some publsiher wants to re-release it. Some projects we just couldn't comply with because the masters were so bad; it wasn;t good enough for TODAY'S standard of broadcasting and Netflix actually has really stingy requirements.... more so than comcast and cox VOD content... ironic.

Well it is the 10th year anniversary for the famous DVX100 this year.....

Pappas

And how long its from this fabulous Andromeda hack which gave you pristine 10 bit 4:4:4 near HD picture from tiny sensor. Shame its buried somewhere forever...
Hehe these new wanabe "Hollywood" 8 bit cinema camcorders are pretty expensive joke :)
