Panasonic 3CCD Mini DV tapes vs. regular Panasonic Mini DV tapes

I was at a camera store and noticed that regular panasonic mini dv tapes where around $25 for a pack of 6. But then at best buy I noticed they were $20 for just 2 panasonic (3ccd) mini dv tapes.

Is there any real difference in quality between the regular ones and the ones recommended for 3ccd cams?

Which one do you guys use?

use the Advanced Master tapes and nothing else. the cheap ones are cheap and crappy. use one type of tape only and stick with it. a quick search of the forum will give you tons of reasons why

you'll find a lot of references to the "Master" or "MQ" tapes - they are now called "Advanced Master" just in case you get confused.

The more expensive tapes are more robust....less likely for drop-offs and you can use them over a couple of times.

The cheap ones will give you the same quality, but won't be as reliable

I've used the pq and mq's....and I have not had a single problem with the mq's.
