Pan Head for crane?

I have purchased a Cobra II Plus camera crane and have started using it like mad, but I am at the stage that I need a pan head to get some shot ideas down on tape. The crane has a great built in tilt but no pan.

I have drawn up plans for a mechanical (motor less) pan mechanism. It is designed like a wired focus puller but using a tripod handle instead of a knob.

Anyway in the meantime I am looking to purchase a pan/tilt head.

Like the bescor mp-101:

The bescor sorta does more and less than I want.
It is small weighs 27oz or 1.7lbs
It holds up to 6 pounds (a little on the low side)
It tilts +-15 degrees which I don't need.
It pans +-90 degrees which I believe should translate to 180 degrees. Which means it can hard right and hard left. (I would like a little more movement)
Don't know anyone using the bescor so don't know how smooth it is.

The Ideal unit would be a smaller or as small in size and weight that can only pan and possibly pan close to 380 degrees and have a wired electric remote or wired manual motor less design.

Do any of you guys know of anything out there that can do what I am describing?

I'm not sure that Pan head will do what you want. It might be too slow or not smooth enough to be an effective head.
