I can't grab the crop box when I want to move it. Every time I try, all that happens is the stupid circle gets bigger. Then I can move the box by grabbing it again...sheesh.
If you move the cursor into the center of the box, it turns into the "+" so you can move the frame. For instance, I've made the box smaller to zoom in on something, then want to pan across it.
But Left-click drag just makes the rotation circle bigger; it doesn't move the box right off. AFter the circle is bigger, you can then go in and move the box.
Now, it might be reasonable to say the box can only be moved within the circle...but that's a pain in the butt, since you'd have to enlarge the circle everytime you add a keyframe. As fas as I'm concerned, they should both move.
I'm juts hoping there's a way around it. Maximizing the circle as default, eliminating it entirely, anything.
I use the ARROW KEYS to do any moving (Panning). I have found it more precise than CLICKING and DRAGGING
If I understand you; you have manipulated the image so that you are ZOOMED in really tight on the image and when you goto drag, the area is so small that instead of CLICKING and DRAGGING (PANNING) it cant grab the right area?
Try using the MOUSE WHEEL to adjust the size of your TEMPLATE. You can ZOOM in as far as you want and still have visible the work area.
try this...instead of clicking and dragging the center dot, click elsewhere, still keeping the crosshair mouse. I suggest slightly off center. You should be able to move the square.
I tried to move the square by clicking and dragging the center dot, and wound up with your issue.
The center dot is the center of rotation pivot point. When you move that dot it means that your rotation of will now follow that outer circle. This is used when you want to keyframe a pan to follow a certain path. Like TuffGong said, don't grab the circle grab anywhere inside the square, or like John Hudson said, just clici anwhere inside the square and then use the arrow keys, plus shift key (to move faster) to move the pan frame.
