Wondering how digitizing into PAL, using Final Cut Pro, will effect the 24P image shot on the vx100? What are the considerations, if any? If this is not the right forum, please direct me to the one you feel will receive the right response.
If you're shooting PAL then it's 25fps.
The Panasonic only shoots 24fps in NTSC.
PAL and nTSC not only have different rates but different sizes and color spaces.
FCP does have the option to conform 25 to 24fps in one of the tool menus.
Given the difference in frame rates and color spaces, when FCP conforms the Panasonic's NTSC image into PAL, will the integrity of the 24P (filmic) image/look be compromised in any way?
FCP really isn't a standards converter. If you want to convert from one standard to another you'd probably want to look at a service. You can check online help for FCP for PAL and nTSC.
