Pallets?

i've heard everyone say around these parts, and keep in mind I know medium to basic-advanced FCP editing skills, about how they keep a number of pallets in their media bins or what not. And everyone seems to use them a lot.

Is there a place, a website, in which I can upload pallets for my own? Is there an editing forum where people share cool FCP editing pallets?

Am I making any sense? Or do I have it all wrong?

help.cheers.

Are you sure it's not "palettes", as in a certain select group of colors? I'm not exactly sure what the use would be in FCP, but in Studio Artist I have built up any number of palettes, usually mimicking the actual paint colors a painter would use.

Yes. I = fool. It is palettes, and they are the mimicking colors.

Do I have to make my own? Or is there a place where people share their palettes?

Or roll your own....

This has the RGB values of painter's colors, like Cobalt Blue, etc. Any basic art book will give you a few palettes that go with each other, and have been used for centuries by painters. My favorite is what is called a limited palette, using only three colors. It was used by John Singer-Sargent a great deal in his watercolors.*

*black was a mix of all three, and white was the paper.

-Burnt Sienna
-Ultramarine Blue
-Yellow Ochre

Most of what I've learned about palettes I've learned from painters, or painting books, and then applied it to my animations in Studio Artist.
