Pal to NTSC

Hey all,

I think the answer is no, because otherwise there won't be a Pal and NTSC model of the HVX, but I have a costumer who wants to have the DVD productions for the US market as well. So is there a way to make a Pal DVD production into a DVD for the NTSC market? I search for old subjects but couldn't find any, but I remember reading something about this project.
And another question concerning DVD Studio Pro with multiple languages. How do I make a DVD with multiple languages, so a DVD where you can select the languages? Any help would be great! Thanks a lot!

Cheers Niels

In FCP, you can use Compressor to export it as NTSC. I know a couple of folks here in the US who do that to go from NTSC to PAL, then author a PAL DVD. I've never actually done it, but I'd assume you can go the other way, too.

Mulitple languages, you mean "work"! The ATPS book on DVDSP I believe covers this. The user manual covers it, too.

Oooooo!!!!! I forgot about the Nattress plug-in!!!! VERY NICE, VERY COOL!!!!

Such sacrilege on my part!

My bad, seriously, I forgot...

Now that stevesherrick knocked me out of my daze (thanks, bra), I have to chime in. The Nattress plug-in actually is about the best way to go about this. Really, it's awesome.

Thanx guys, one quick question though, what would be the difference with using the compressor to make a pal sequence into a ntsc one?

You could do that, it'd work, I know folks who do that. I'm just not sure what the image quality would be between that and the Nattress plug-in. Try it out, see what happens, let us know!

From what I've read, the compressor "advanced" route is the best... and the slowest. Even according to Graeme (... and I've bought his plug).

Thing is that compressor has aquired the Shake way of doing this.
