Just got back from Italy visiting family and shot some stuff on the 100A 24p normal and wanted to make a DVD to send back to them. What approach do I take considering they are PAL based? I have DVDSP3 if that helps.
Well 2 things, i know how to do it, but i wonder if it is as easy as selecting PAL playback in the DVDSP disc preferences?
Well try this. I know this works because i did it with NTSC footgae for a PAL DVD here in the UK.
(are you using FCP?)
Right this is what to do if you are:
1. Edit your footage/section, as normal (NTSC) then export a quicktime movie.
2. Use Cinema tools, (comes with FCP 4) and conform your NTSC QT movie to 25 fps.
3. Then open up a new project in FCP (PAL 25fps) import your NTSC QT movie and put it in the timeline. You need to speed the whole clip up to 120% and stretch the the size of the frame to 123.
4. Save and render, then export the movie to DVDSP.
Your file will be PAL format. It took me ages to figure it out but i did it and it does work!
Let us know if what i wrote is really confusing? Good luck
