PAL de-interlaced

So I'm using a PAL Sony VX2000 for this project, and I'm happy about the resolution compared to the NTSC version of this camera, but I wanted to know about how I should compress it if its going to be viewed on an HD TV (720p) but also if it's going to be viewed on a progressive computer moniter. I know that de-interlacing is not good for resolution but are there different methods for avoiding the visual artifacts of interlaced footage in fast motion shots? Which compression options should I choose?

Thanks,
Mac

De-interlacing is just fine, there's nothing inherintly evil about it.

What NLE do you use?

If you shoot with the VX2000, it's an SD camera. SD video looks like crap on an HD TV screen anyway. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks a lot, I'm using FCP. By the way, is there a difference in degeneration between converting NTSC to PAL and PAL to NTSC? I'm thinking that NTSC to PAL would look worse just b/c PAL has more lines per frame in the first place.
