Painting video?

I have footage and i would like to touch up the actresses face in photoshop. I've tried exporting the video from adobe premiere into photoshop as a filmstrip but it seems you have to go to each frame and edit each one. The problem is that you have to keep the editing in photoshop consistent through each frame (which is impossible) or else every frame looks different and jittery. There is no way to copy and paste the effect from one frame to the next when it's in a filmstrip??? Does anyone know how or another way to do this? I've heard something about hard masks? I have no idea what that is but anyone with instructions or info let me know. Thanksss

If you really want to paint video then get Commotion or at least After Effects.
If you want to paint the same thing on every frame then bring a frame into Photoshop.
Create a new layer and paint the frame. Save transparencey selection then save in Photoshop format. Load into your editing program and put this layer on top of your clip in the timeline. If necessary you could set a key positions if she moves.

Painting eyes a different color...i was also thinking about blurring her skin to smoothen it out.

There are a couple of ways of doing what you want without painting anything. First though, what color are her eyes, and how large are they on the screen? I would simply mask them, roto the mask, and then use Hue/Saturation on whichever color channel her eye color would be.

Same with the Blurs.

Any way you can post a reference pic? And how long is the footage?

but in this case you will have to track his/her eyes, won't you?

there is a cool tool on PS. it smooths just the given part of the pic. how could I use it in AE?

You could motion track the eyes and apply the track data to the mask position if you wanted, it would give great results too. But if there was not a lot of movement and the clip wasn't especially long, you could just do it by hand.

In Photoshop, if you are talking about the blur tool, there isn't one in AE, and if you are talking about the healing brush, there isn't one of those either. Could use the clone tool I suppose, but that would probably be more of a pain than not.
