Painted Timelapse

This is not meant to be a political discussion. In fact if anyone even remotley provides a political opinion I will erase all my posts and encourage the moderators to remove this. That being said I'm looking for tips when creating a video similiar to the below AOC video.

Specifically trying to figure out how they paint on multiple papers without it bleeding through and how they paint and lift the papers up without anything shifting.

Thanks!

Looks like card stock or heavy art paper. Also look like it is on a box of some sort. COuld it be that the box is white (ish) and only a single sheet of media is used at a time? Notice there is a small jump each time the paper comes up making me think there is a cut in there.

The timelapse type of speeding the painting up looks like real time sped up to where they need it. Doesn't really look like a series of stills.

I see the box now that you mention it. I am also seeing now that there is a cut right BEFORE they lift the paper up, probably to slide a clean sheet underneat it. I guess she was just carefull not to move the box it during painting and make sure the paper is really alligned with the box well to hide the cut.

It was REALLY well done, that's for sure.

I'm guessing they only really used one sheet at a time and hid the fact in the edit.

I would expect that everything on the table was glued down so that it could not move. Or that they motion tracked the corners of the box so that it would appear to be anchored. I'd start with simple and glue everything to the table and then motion track if needed.

One alternate to consider, did they really paint on the paper? Could they have taken some shots and digitally painted the images and then track them when lifting the paper? All depends on how the artist worked.
