i have 2,66Ghz QuadCPU, 8GB RAM, 64bit Vista, 1 HDD ... editing mostly AVCHD
how should i configure premiere pro cs4 settings and windows virtual memory ?

ive seen always a lot of activity in pagefile ... and RAM still not used (usually to 2GB of 8GB used), so i turned it off ... but whats good for premiere ? and how should i set "optimize rendering: performace or memory" ? and what does it mean :) are there any other tips for improving performance of premiere CS4 ?

so i made a little research on this ... and come up with this

working with AVCHD (and other GOP based formats) ... Premiere Pro must render individual frames from "Group of Frames" where are only stored information about changes ... thats the reason why is ram getting filled up just by playback ... and so virtual memory and pagefile is essential to give a space to where to save this ... but still dunno if this is limited by 32bit app 4GB virtual memory, or its loaded differently .... also considering getting RAID0 may be worth of ... but dunno how much performance boost would raid give

is this right ?

because into this idea also fits the fact ... that i experience totally realtime manipulation with video but only in small (somewhat loaded) areas ... for example i can play it backwards smoothly only after playing it forward first ... so its not a slow cpu thing

can somone reply me on this (and repair me) ? make it clear to me ? :)
