Pacific Coast Lighting is a FRAUD

And that's what Paul was seconding.

I haven't bought from Cowboy but a friend has 4 of their quad biax flo banks. He loves them. I rented two of them for this Sports Illustrated.com shoot.

One annoying thing I noticed about the Cowboy stands that come with their flo kits is that each extension (riser) will, of course, extend up and collapse down but they will not rotate/spin inside the outer extensions even when loose. Sometimes, it's nice to loosen an extension and give a slight left or right tweak the light position. These stands will not do that. Up and down only.

They let you use "Cowboy Lighting" in Norman. Did they know? Did you have to make new labels that said Sooner Lighting. :-))

Heh heh... :)

Actually, I don't recall the lights having any visible Cowboy "branding" on them at all. The Sooners, on the other hand, were branded by the Cowboys this year.

Yes they were. I wouldn't suggest you try a longhorn camera, If there is such a thing. That may put them over the edge.

Not sure if this is the light or the color correction (doubt it) but their is a definite green cast on both the interviewers and interviewees
faces in the Sports Illustrated video. To my eye this is very unattractive.
I've had this experience with several low cost lighting solution in the past, even the Coollights 600 without the right filters will produce this.
My next investment will be the Coolights CL-1200 Bi-Color simply because Richard has done his homework and the light is
extremely stable, and he has managed to counteract the green spike (present in many Led's) without filtration.

i don't see as much of a green spike as it is much too warm. They look like simpson characters.

I can't really see a green spike either. I believe people are so concerned about it they start seeing things.

There can definitely sometimes been a green spike. One of my cool lights 150W hmi's is slightly more green than my other, so i generally don't ever use it to light skin, but sometimes objects, general room fill or a backlight. I just don't see that here. Just something very funky with the WB or grade.

The SI video was heavily graded and, of course, compressed for the internet. Everything looked nice and warm on set. The lamps in the fixtures were Osram.

They look like simpson characters.

LOL, thanks.
