P2 vs. firestore quick question

Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed at length, and i think I already know the answer to this question, but Im hoping someone can confirm. Is p2 the only way to capture variable frame rates? Or can the firestore do it? I believe that it cannot. If it can't, are there plans for some kind of upgrade to make it capable of capturing variable frame rates? Thanks alot.

The FireStore can capture footage that's been shot at variable frame rates, but it doesn't have the ability to play the footage and show the variable-speed effect. You'd have to run the footage through Apple's Frame Rate Converter utility in order to get the benefit of slow-mo and fast-mo.

Hey Barry,

Thanks for the reply. In running it through the converter...would it look similar/the same to the footage that is captured on a p2?

Thanks,

Jon
