Footage shot in 720 24p
On the FS-100 Version 3.0 P2 format
FCP 5.1.4
Easy set up settings to 720 24p

I bring in my footage in the P2 window and then put in the bin .
I double click to put in the viewer and the format is 16:9
when i put on the time line, the footage looks like it's in 16:9 but the image-wire frame is in the 4:3 safety zone.
This does not look right.
I hit Apple 0 to open up the sequence settings and I select DVCPRHD 720 .
it still doesn't look correct.
Does anyone know what are the correct settings?

Can you provide a screen grab? I've never seen this problem. Also, white type on this forum is much easier to read.

When you manipulate your clip with the Wireframe + Image function, does it work properly?

What version of FCP are you working in?

When you say "it still doesn't look correct", you mean the Wireframe itself, or the whole image?

Hey Ben,
How was Mardi gras?
I figured out my problem.
Before I put my 720 24 p footage on the time line. I hit apple 0 then hit load sequence preset and select the format to match what I shot.
The the image on the recorder together with the image and wire-frame then conform to the right look and setting...
On another note, I know I asked about making a still frame Jpeg from my video before.
I tried it with the settings i just described and when my still jpeg frame was created, the image was squeezed in together from the sides. looked like the aspect was not the right image.
Since my footage is in 720, do i need to make a new sequence and have the time line settings to 4:3? I tried that but my still jpeg came out looking like a letter box 16:9 aspect...
Your thoughts?

FCP is wacky making stills from HD footage. Here's what I do, I save that clip out as a QT movie, then open that in QT Player, and then Export out as a still. It give the best quality and keeps the proper aspect ratio. Not sure why FCP can't keep the aspect ration when exporting DVCPRO-HD material.

And Mardi Gras, as usual, rocked!
