I´m helping a frined to edit AVCHD files , from a Sony handcam.

i have a trial version of CS4...and figured out that i´m not abble to import AVCHD files with the trial.

But with P2 i can start a sequence...

But there is no way to import .MXF file...it says tha is a supported format.
What a hell..

It says at adobe´s web site that it supports NATIVE P2...no it does not , because a cant figure out how to import it...

i´m trying to have a full version.

but anyone can help me please..

give me a light.

thanks
.

acvhd and dvcprohd are different so is you have dvcpro hd file as mxf extantion,cs4 will not have any problem to import it.Just open a new project which matches your shooting format(like 720/24p) or whatever, and then go to import and select the content folder, you'll see cs4 importing them natively.Maybe something to do about trial version:(

thanks , i use FS100 and shot everything as QTPN and cut with FCP no issues..
but i´m helping a frined with AVCHD and experimenting the CS4 ,and could not import AVCHD , and i decided to have a try with .MXF

and it is not working either....

i´m about to have a serial and try it out again...

Hold up, it's the trial version as I understand it. CS3 and CS4 most definitely *do* have native P2/DVCPRO-HD support. But I don't think they include that feature in the trial version.

Yes, CS3 and CS4 supports P2 natively, just drag and drop into the timeline. The trial version however does NOT support HD editing at all.

They only thing disabled in the trial is anything MPEG related. HDV won't work, P2 will work though.

Are you sure you have the P2 drivers installed o the computer?

CS4's trial definitely does support p2 DVCPRO-HD support. CS3 does not because MXF support came in at 3.1
