P2 in Space - the Red Bull Stratos Project

Well done Barry G, looking forward to reviewing the P2 and cinema camera images. And that was a very slick live-streamed event, would love to hear a post-show wrap and equipment summary.

Cheers,
Craig

I caught the live jump at 3 seconds into the initial jump and followed it from there. That was something else. I'd like to see a rebroadcast also of the entire event.

The 'live' broadcast started on tv here in Perth a few minutes after the internet feed left off, so I ended up watching it twice. Had two hours before I had to go to work anyway, harder to wakeup than just stay awake. The apprentice can drive today, I'm not safe.

Great stuff ..looking forward to a 'write up' on how you did it Barry, the cameras and their environmental enclosures, the downlinks and equipment used.

This is the guy in mission control I thought was Barry, but it wasn't.

Probably like a couple Nikon 80-200s with an extender or something like that...
No, nothing whatsoever like that. No DSLRs or stills lenses were involved at all, except for taking stills. The shots from the ground were gotten with telescopes and 42x ENG lenses. The shots from inside the capsule were custom tiny HD cameras.

Must be an incredible feeling to have been a part of this Barry!
Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime thing, I mean, how often does something like this come around?

There was a ridiculous feeling of pride watching it all happen. The team was incredible.

ohhh I missed barry, did he appear on camera?
I wasn't a central figure, but I would have been on during the power-up sequence, I was the capsule technician who goes in and powers everything on before Felix gets in, and i was on the flight line to assist with balloon deployment and whatnot, and I was on the capsule recovery team. So yes, I should have been on several times, but only incidentally.
