I'm trying to edit a footage take by the HVX-200 but my final cut doesnt recognize this footage take in HD but in SD def works fine does anybody know about it? is compatible the P2 HD with final cut pro 5.0 or do I have to upgrade to the new 5.1 , on the other hand, I can upgrade to 5.1 on the old G5 powermac.

You must upgrade to at least 5.0.4 which is a free upgrade. 5.1.1 would be better. 5.0 doesn't recognize HD files from P2 cards, 5.0.4 does.

If you have a licensed copy of FCP 5.0.1 you can upgrade to Final Cut Suite 5.1 for $99 USD. If you have a licensed copy of Final Cut Studio you can upgrade to Final Cut Suite 5.1 for $49 USD.
