P2 CMS crashing my macbook pro

I'm relatively new to FCP but not new to television or technology.

For weeks now, I have been reading manuals, searching threads and watching DVD's so I can establish a solid but simple P2 workflow to start out organized and keep my Mac clean and appropriately updated.

Today I installed P2 Content Management Software and with QT (7.2) was immediately able to view MXF files that were already on my system but everytime I try and ingest more than one file at a time my system freezes and asks me to power down.

I have tried repairing permissions and I have updated to the 16GB P2 driver. I didn't download P2 Formatter because I had read others were having trouble with it in combination with the Duel Adapter.

I would like to keep my workflow simple but also would like to utilize metadata. I haven't tried Raylight yet because I don't want to establish a workflow with too many software work arounds. That seems to introduce a lot of upgrades and conflicks to keep up with now or to worry about when archiving.

Any suggestions on getting P2 CMS to work properly?

Thanks in advance this and the Cow have already been invaluable.
