P2 card transfer to Firestore

Anyone tried this? Shoot PN mode on P2 card, then playback from card onto Firestore. In other words using the Firestore as a VTR capture device. Will this work?
 
Firewire cannot support pn live streams. But, if you are talking about using the firestore as a hard drive to transfer files, it would work in that manner. But you will not be able to play the clip and capture it due to the limitations of the firewire interface itself.

The firestore will be able to essentially replicate pn mode anyways with their 2.0 (?) firmware update coming soon, so don't even worry about it.

Actually, it's the 3.0 firmware and it should be coming soon. It will allow you to record 24p over firewire and it will remove the pulldown upon recording. That's the same thing as 24pN

Sorry, 25PN mode. Is the output of the HVX not 720/50p or 1080/50i? or does this only apply to the component out?
 
You could just copy the CONTENTS folder and LASTCLIP.TXT file over to the FS-100 with your computer.

3.0 is in Beta now. Very close. I'm sure y'all want to see it actually work rather than be released as really flaky software. A little patience, and it'll be here soon. It's very cool.
