Overscanned

So I shot my 24pa footage in "squeeze mode." Used the DVX's eyepiece, the LCD, and RCA out to a professional JVC production monitor to preview while I was shooting. As some of you may have experienced when I brought my footage into Final Cut the preview window actually gives me more of the image than I saw when I shot, as if it is 'overscanned'. So, in FCP's window I can occasionally see boommics or c-stands. But, in my monitor out's I only see what I saw when I shot.
Here's where the problem comes in. I exported the edit out to quicktime for my composer and I'm getting the "overscanned" image that's in the FCP preview window. So, I'm seeing **** I don't see on any other monitor in the qt file.
Are my export settings incorrect or is there some confusion b/c I shot in anamorphic squeeze mode. And when I go mpeg2 out through compressor for the DVD will I get the overscanned image there as well?!
What to do??

Do you have your monitor set for 16:9? For underscan? If not, you probably won't seen the whole recorded image in your monitor, because your monitor overscans. The LCD doesn't give you the whole image, either.

When you go to DVD and play in a set-top box, you probably won't see the extra stuff, because it'll be displayed on an overscanned TV. But you'll still see it if you play it on a computer.

You could crop and zoom, but you'll see some resolution loss.

Of course, the best way to avoid the is not to shoot it the way you did, but unless you're willing to reshoot, you'll have to do some creative cropping or just live with it.
