overheads?

Adobe illustrator is pretty good for that kind of thing. You can pre-make your fixtures and save them for future layouts.

OMG!

Google Sketchup: It's Free, easy, works in 2d and 3d, draws to scale and has thousands of free elements, and hundreds of film related elements (cameras, jibs, kinos, sandbags...)

Here are some screen grabs from a shoot I'm planning for next week.

How long have you been using SketchUp?

Is something like that easy to create if you know what you want? It seems pretty difficult. I guess I should try it out. I tried to make my room in 3d using the software a couple months ago but failed.

It's unlike any other 3d software, it's a little weird, but once you figure it out, you can fly fast.

I spent about a day going through some online tutorials.

>Thse diagrams can't be called diagrams

Heh? What do you mean?
uh sorry the rest of the sentence disappeared.....
these are more than diagrams, they are great 3d plans, that can even be used for stagging and blocking and etc....:) that is what I meant to say:thumbup:

again thanks for this find.
