Overcranking w/ Brevis

I'm working on a short ( HVX w/brevis) that is going to use quite a bit of slow motion. I'll be shooting all of the 24pN stuff with shutter angle around 200. So my question is what shutter speed/angle should I be using when shooting 36, 48, and 60 fps? Are there any precautions I need to be aware of when using a vibrating adapter shooting at those speeds?

Thanks a bunch.

I don't really have an answer to your question since Im a new Brevis owner. But I shot some tests of slow motion with the 180 shutter and we didnt get any weird results with any of our slo-mo.

If your shutter angle goes higher than 180 degrees you will get motion softness. You should instead increase your speed to 90-135 degrees to reduce motion.

In another thread someone suggested using 30PN to get 24 film frames feel to it.

I just raise my shutter to 1/60 second (about 135 degrees without going into the menu)when using 24p.

You'll see some Brevis overcrank in this piece:.

Shutter up to 1/250s is achievable with oscillation tuning, and normally 1/120s is no problem out of the box. Oscillation tuning is about to get a lot easier with an external intelligent control for the Brevis...retrograde friendly of course.
