overbright

How could I make something overbright very ob. like rgb 1.2 1.2 1.2? I trying to do that in 16bit mode, but I cannot reach the desired effect.

hey surf, I think when you start dealing with overbrights, you are talking about high dynamic range imagery. White on your computer, regardless of 8 or 16 bit color is still only the full presence of of your RGB channels. I don't see how you can go higher than 100 percent R, G, and B, (or even YUB). White is still white, whether you have 16.7 million colors or 68.7 trillion.

What effect or look are you trying to get?

Yeah After effects can do it!!!

After Effects 7.0 can handle Floating Point (32-bit), this value's greater than 1.0.

Go to the AE Help file, and check out HDR, and cineon

Do a google search for eLin. Its a plug-in for 6.5 (pro) that does what you are looking for. Watch the tutorials for it to see how it works. It's not needed for ver. 7.

Chude 13 is right about eLin for AE 6.5, but if you got 7.0, the functionality is built in, no need for the plug-in.

I want to make a glint to shine. but is only white :( even if i try to do that with eLin

post a sample of what you don't like, and then explain what you want to see, so we can see if we can help you.

surf, that doesn't sound like you need overbright, that sounds like you have a very defined part of your video and you want to drastically enhance some existing glints, or create them from scratch. If you are looking for something like volumetric lighting, you will need an approtpriate pulgin, but even that is not overbright.

Derrick is right though. You should post a frame so we can see what you are trying to do.

it should be a veryy shine spot, but it is only white :( unfortunatelly, I cannot post a pic right now.
