Over modulation problems

I'm editing the first wedding I shot with the DVX. Apparently, I did a poor job of watching the audio levels in a few spots during the cake cutting and in a couple other places because there's some noticeable over modulation. Is there any way of fixing or at least improving what I have in post (maybe in Final Cut) or am I stuck?
 
I was hoping that might work. I wasn't sure if I could do anything after the fact. I discovered it late last night and didn't have the chance to get back at it yet but I'll give it a go tonight. Thanks.
 
nothing you can do for distortion but hide it, man.
You should leave your levels in auto for live events. This way you can tweek anything in post with no distortion.
You can also find sweet lil compressors for the field with a quick search.
