over exposed window

my actor is standing in front of an over exposed window. not too bad except for a glow over his right shoulder.

can I remove the entire background....frame by frame is need be? crop the actor and drop in a newly shot background

if so, how? what program

Chris, it can be done in programs like Motion, but keying out a scene with any movement in it is extremely time consuming. You may want to see if you can bring it down in your NLE (I know that Fcp has an exposure filter)
