Howdy,
I'm editing this movie that has a 3 minute shot that follows the subject as he walks through a house. It was done with a homemade steadicam, so there were a few shakes that I wanted to smooth out with smoothcam. It worked great except for at one point, there is an explosion in the shot which was added in after effects. For some reason the explosion totally screws up the smoothcam because it is such a sudden movement, and the camera is in motion at the time. Unfortunately you can't keyframe the filter so that it knows how much to stablize at any given time. The only option you have is "mix" which basically dissolves between the smoothcam'd video, and the original, so you get weird blending like you would if you simply dissolved between the two. Is there any way around this or am I hosed?
