current footage is 1280x720p 23.98 i need to output to 1920x1080p 23.98

do it either:

create a new timeline with 1080p settings and move my 1280x720p into that and re-render then output straight
or
take my 1280x720p timeline and output with specific uncompressed quicktime settings, which i do not know. please help i need this for my final so it an be color corrected.

also i edited with 960x720 so i could edit, and i want to bring in the original source of 1280x720 but it changes back to 960x720 when i bring it into fcp, someone please help. thanks.

It seems that no wanted to help you because, well; I really don't know.
But what I can tell you is that, if you export to a 1080i using 720p footage. It's not going to make a difference in quality...I just want to put that out there.

Can still export it 1080i even though it's 720p? Yes you can!

You don't really have to create another sequence to change the setting of your footage. There's no point. When you happy with the final cut, then export out at 1080i. Thats it. It's that easy. Go to:

quick time conversion, export with the similar codec (that you use when importing it from the camera), and as for size; go ahead and 1920x1080 HD 16x9. You'll be good.

Good Luck,

Murray
