I have 24PA footage that I am working with in Vegas in a 24P project...can I output this to DV as 24P or do I have to make a 24P Progressive DVD or what...I want to save this 24P project somewhere besides hard disk if I need to transfer to film in the future.
Thanks David...While editing in a 24P project, can I still view the video on a client monitor, or is this not possible in 24P...A friend of mine has Avid Xpress Pro and he cannot do it unless he has the Mojo hardware.
Well, it’s Vegas, not Avid. Of course you can – run it out through firewire just as you would from any timeline. It’ll do an on-the-fly pulldown for display on an NTSC monitor, but it has to, and you won’t see any difference.
Thanks, but my monitor does not have firewire...only composite or svideo...so my camera is pluged into to computer via firewire and the cameras svideo is connected to the client monitor...In Avid, if you are in a 24P project, you do not see any video on the client monitor unless u have Mojo...just wondering if Vegas has that ability.

Monitors don't generally have firewire. The practice is to run the firewire into a camera or deck that has video out, and the video out to the monitor.
Anyway, Vegas outputs to a monitor (via firewire as above) just fine in 24p.
