output sound in DVD Architect 4

i made my video in Vegas 7.0c and output as mpeg, it played the sound well. But when I add the video file in DVD Architect 4 it worked, but when i output it to a DVD.It only gives sound of the 1st chapter set for 1 sec then the whole of the rest of the video goes silent and mute. But I never ask it to do that. I've tried it on 3 DVD players all the same thing. any idea what's causing this?

Anyone had this problem before

Never seen it before. Maybe it was just a bad render in DVD Architect.

What you did isn't the best way of going about it, though. What you should do is render your video from Vegas as MPEG-2, but using one of the DVD Architect templates. This will be a silent file. Be sure to render as a loop region.

Then, using the same loop region, render a separate AC-3 file for the audio. Give it the same file name as the video and save it to the same folder.

Then, when you bring the video into DVD Architect, the audio will be linked up automatically.

This is the preferred method, and it will avoid the problem you're having (most likely) becuase DVD Architect will not have to re-render the video or the audio, as it will if you render the video and the audio as a single MPEG-2 file.

I have chatper with the movie. Do u mean the yellow loop or the green loop one.

I used the green one on the video at the yellow one on the audio but what happens to the sound? Is this correct? I checked the markers thing when rendering it. But ti didn't display the chapters in DVD Architect when i made a Scene Selection it just displayed the 1 full video.

Yellow. Use the same yellow loop region for both. What you must have done is rendered different lengths of the project for your video and audio.

You don't use the green region points for chapter markers; you use the orange markers -- press "M." These will carry over, and if you name the markers, the names will automatically become the chapter names in DVD Architect.

I already have chapters in it do u just use the Yellow ones all the way from start to end of the video or for each chapter

I'm having a similar problem. Using Vegas 7.0d. Followed David's instructions but I only get a 'blip' of sound when I preview in DVDA? I have the 2 files .mpg and .ac3 with the same file name and 'Insert' the .mpg into the DVDA project.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Just maybe the yellow loop line was only on a specfic party u need to get it all the way from start to finished mines works now :) Thanks for your help guys.

Thanks. I figured it out. Doh! Strange thing. I had Vegas and DVDA open at the same time. I rendered to MPEG-2 (using the loop) and then AC-3. It just wouldn't work. Then, just when I was about to give up, I was looking at the rendered files. The MPEG-2 had the correct time. The AC-3 did not. So, I deleted the AC-3, and rendered again and... wallah, it worked!

I don't know why the AC-3 date/time wasn't changing because everytime I rendered, a dialog asked me if I wanted to 'overwrite' the version that was out there. I would answer 'Yes'.

So, to summarize, deleting the rendered version of the AC-3 (the bad and old date/time version) and then rendering again was the trick.
