Hey, so I've uploaded my 24pA footage from my DVX100b and edited my little trailer...so, what are the best settings to output for a DvD? how about the web? I want to preserve the progressiveness of the footage, if that is a word...please help and give info if you can :D

I don't know about preserving the "progressiveness" of the footage, I imagine that is all taken care of by the program. I use Quicktime h.264 for a good quality video and for the web I use Media Encoder to make it as small as possible. What exactly are you having problems with?

my question, i guess, is what is a high quality output setting...i've heard h.264 is good, but i haven't tried it yet...i'm goin to do some tests now...i just heard not to output as an AVI, i dunno why exactly...i'm experienced with editing and stuff, I just haven't ever exported progressive 24pA footage and wanted to make sure I'm not exporting in anything that would degrade the quality of the image...

also, when I put it on dvd, encore asks if I want to do an interlaced or progressive disk, i guess asking if i want to make the footage interlaced...what should I say?

avi is friggin huge, thats why I don't use it. and as far as DVD goes- if you are watching it on a standard television use interlaced, but for a pc or something use progressive. someone correct me if I am wrong. Your best bet is to do a few tests and see what you think.

When exporting to a file you will have several different options in the settings area. This is where you will pick your format and compression. You can also choose whether the fotage will be progressive or interlaced.

Do some tests when you have the time on a small sample of video, and see what works best for you.
