Out of memory error too often

Hi, to everyone,

I'm having an Out of memory error all the time when I try to have Final Cut process or render (or whatever) a video clip.
I'm not including any still image. It's all with .dv files captured with iMovie from a Panasonic DVX-100b and none of the clips is larger than 260Mb. There are 934 clips that make a total of 40GB spread in 10 sequences in a single project.

My Mac Pro has:

- 2x2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

- 16GB of DDR3 RAM

- more than 750GB of available free space in the hard disk

What could be happening?

Thanks a lot

OK, change of problem:

Installed Final Cut X and captured DVX's tapes from cero. I only moved the cursor over the event's clips and the program crashes in just a few seconds of doing this:
finalcutx.jpg

As you can see in the picture, I haven't even started with the project yet.

Any clues?

You user account might be corrupted. I'd try creating another user account and see what happens when you use that to edit. Happens...

Ok, solved. I erased the "Final Cut Events" and "Final Cut Projects" folders and the program created new ones when it was launched. I imported the video again and no problem. I gess it was some sort of corruption in an Event.

Thank you Noahk and everybody else.
