Out from the cold.

Now that the weather is turning cold, what would you recommend for bringing the camera indoors and outdoors? Any other suggestions for handling and storage of batteries and tapes? I usually leave my ditty bag in the car, with my batteries and tapes, but the camera is treated like the nuclear football the president travels with.

We suggest to let the camera sit without power applied for at least 15-20 min.
Condensation will do all kind of damage mechanically and electronically if you turn it on with everything fogged up.

dmc, I would definitely bring in the ditty bag, tapes spool better when they are the same T as the camera, and the battery life is extended at room T, rather than cold or hot weather. Keep it all together, indoors.
