ya, i'm pretty miffed that Zodiac was passed over this year. One of my favorites of the year by far.

And I'm really rooting for Roderick Jaynes (Joel & Ethan) to win editing, i would love to see how they deal with the fact that he's not a real person.
I loved Zodiac, but I really don't think it stands up to No Country or Michael Clayton. It had great moments but it also fell at points, and I'm a big Zodiac buff. I've yet to see Into the Wild but I've heard great things, it's on my list.If I had to pick two, I'd say Zodiac and Into the Wild were the two best films of the year.
I agree. :thumbsup:No love for the Brolinator?...Kind of suprised, he gave two great performances in No Country and American Gangster.
Me too. And that steadi shot. Which i thought was a bit gratuitous. But it was an awesome movie.I am kind of worried something like Atonement will take Best Cinematography because the Academy generally confuses good art direction for good cinematography.
I loved Away From Her. They printed the short story it was based on (The Bear Came Over The Mountain) and an interview with Sarah Polley in Zoetrope: All Story a few issues ago. Julie Christie has a pretty good shot after winning the Golden Globe. But yeah not a lot of people saw it. Its on DVD already.Glad to see Tommy Lee Jones get a nod. For some reason I feel like I'm the only person who has seen In The Valley of Elah and Away From Her.
